Parents/guardians of students who attended Derby Public Schools during the 2024-2025 school year are encouraged to log in to the state’s online Parent Portal to review their child’s Spring 2025 State Assessment scores, which recently became available.

Assessment Program Subjects/Domains and Grades Tested (students' grade in 2024-2025)

  • KAP Summative English Language Arts, Mathematics Grades 3-8, 10

Science Grades 5, 8 and 11 (all students)

  • Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) alternate assessment English Language Arts, Mathematics Grades 3-8, 10; Science Grades 5, 8, 11 (designated students)

**Important: State Assessment Changes in Scoring**
The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) has implemented an updated state assessment, which will begin with the scores from this assessment. The new assessment is more closely aligned to grade-level standards. The 2025 score reports reflect the outcomes of the new assessment tools. Scores should not be used to compare individual scale scores from a previous grade to the current one. View more information from KSDE on the new assessments. Additionally, we would like to share an update about the 2025 11th-grade Science assessment. While students did take the test, the results did not provide the full range of scores needed to set the official cut scores, meaning there are no scores to share for this specific test.

Parent Portal Overview and Access
Parent Portal was designed to give access to view your child’s current and historical reports from assessments taken in the Kite Student Portal. Kite Student Portal is used by students to complete summative (spring) assessments developed for the Kansas Assessment Program (KAP) as well as the Dynamic Learning Maps® (DLM®) alternate assessment and Kansas English Language Proficiency Assessment (KELPA).

Parent Portal can be accessed from both desktop computers and mobile devices. You will need to use a web browser like Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari on your device. You will also need the ability to view PDF documents. This functionality is built into most browsers but may require additional software, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.

To log in to Kite Parent Portal, follow the processes outlined below:

1. Open your web browser and visit https://parentportal.kiteaai.org/

2. Enter the email address you previously registered with your child’s school district in the email address field.

3. Select Get Started!
