Wineteer Strong.

Located in Wichita near the family housing area of McConnell Air Force Base, Wineteer Elementary is conveniently located for both non-military and military families.

Wineteer staff work to ensure that all students are a part of the Thunderbird family. Wineteer offers unique opportunities for all students to use their knowledge in hands-on experiences and to explore ideas. Students are encouraged to investigate questions and work collaboratively to gain new skills and knowledge. 

Wineteer was named a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School for making notable improvements in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Wineteer was also named a Project Lead The Way Distinguished School (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023) and was awarded the Kansas State Department of Education Challenge Award (2020 and 2021).

Serving Early Childhood through 5th grade, Wineteer offers a variety of opportunities for students to engage with the community and their peers through programs such as Red Ribbon Week, Fire Prevention Week and Field Day which add to the excitement and involvement at the school. With a diverse population of languages, Wineteer offers English Language Learners (ELL) services for all grades. Wineteer provides tiered instruction to target the unique learning needs of students in reading and math.
